About us: A safe space for HSPs
Why Sensitive Society was Created
Hi, and welcome. I’m so glad you found us!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt different. I always knew that there was no way that everyone around me felt as much and as deeply as I did.
I was quite often overwhelmed, overstimulated, exhausted and often felt like I was “too much” and I always did my best to hide my feelings through fear of being judged by others. I thought there was something “wrong” with me.
But when I came across the term “Highly Sensitive Person”, everything clicked. It made sense of who I am, and I hope it can for you too. It’s not an illness, or a disorder, it’s a personality trait – a way of moving through the world with depth, empathy, and intuition. And it’s a gift. Â
I knew that there had to be others like me out there, so I decided to set out on a mission to connect with them and create a safe space where our sensitivity is celebrated, where self-compassion is practiced daily, and where rest and slow living are not only accepted, but encouraged.
So many of us live in constant self-judgment, criticising, and silencing ourselves in order to keep up with expectations – Sensitive Society is a community where we practice unlearning self-judgment and choosing kindness toward ourselves, even on the hard days.
Our goal is to provide a refuge: a place to unlearn harsh inner voices, and to practice choosing kindness toward ourselves, and embrace our trait instead of fighting it.
We aim to provide reflections, self-care practices, and (soon!) thoughtful tools and products designed to help Highly Sensitive People and empaths embrace who they are and find peace in their own presence.
I’m tired of battling with myself and the world, aren’t you?
